How Crystalline Technology Works

Crystalline waterproofing is a science that has the ability to heal itself. Practically, as water is introduced into the concrete, active chemicals react and create more crystals in order to close new cracks or gaps.
This continuous crystalline growth makes the coating a permanent waterproofing system, unlike traditional surface coatings or membranes that can peel or deteriorate over time.

Elastomeric wall coatings are ready-to-use waterproofing membranes formulated for thick-film application—nearly 10 times thicker than standard paints. These coatings form a tough yet highly flexible layer that stretches and recovers as the wall expands or contracts due to temperature variations or minor structural movements.

Their exceptional elasticity allows them to bridge existing hairline cracks and prevent water ingress, ensuring long-term protection while maintaining an attractive, seamless finish.

Because of their flexibility and durability, elastomeric coatings are ideal for walls exposed to harsh weather conditions or frequent thermal movement. They can also be tinted in light shades to enhance the building’s visual appeal.

Concrete is a versatile and widely used material, but being hydrophilic, it absorbs water like a sponge. Waterproofing is essential to prevent water ingress and protect embedded steel. Integral waterproofing, available in liquid and powder forms, offers an economical, effective, and environmentally friendly solution. These admixtures create a durable barrier, enhancing concrete’s longevity and performance, while powder forms are easy to apply and liquids allow tailored solutions for specific project needs.

Concrete, although strong, is also a hard sponge—hydrophilic and capable of soaking up water. Special treatments are needed with specialized waterproofing materials. Multiguard Crystal and PrimeShield are products that react with concrete to form billions of crystals, effectively plugging porosity. Being in liquid form, these products can be easily sprayed or brush-applied on a properly prepared surface. Multiguard EP and AquaBlock are epoxy-based but water-dilutable products with high bond strength. Being water-based epoxy, they can be applied on wet or damp surfaces.
