MetaPrime & Rustoblock

Primers: MetaPrime and Rust-O-Block Products

The “MetaPrime & Rust-O-Block Coatings” are the first line of defense against the corrosion of metal. If we also want to create protection against corrosion, while covering irregularities and small defects, primers are the solution. A wide range of primers gives the option to choose from normal corrosive environments to very harsh conditions.

Organic and inorganic zinc-rich primers, acrylic water-borne primers, epoxy primers, and polyurethane primers are some of the available options for protection. One-component primers are quick-drying, perfect for filling small irregularities. Shop primers are fast-drying phosphate primers with excellent adhesion to steel, galvanized surfaces, zinc-coated metals, polished sheet metal, aluminum, copper, and bronze, whereas zinc-rich primers are used in aggressive and marine environments.

Two-component primers are either based on a thick-coat epoxy-polyamide primer or acrylic. Two-component epoxy primers are used as an intermediate layer to achieve increased corrosion protection and film thickness. They have a high content of anti-corrosion pigments, including zinc phosphate.

With this, we are able to create a strong layer of corrosion protection. In addition, these primers have excellent adhesion to all types of metals. They are widely used for the protection of agricultural, industrial, marine, mining, and industrial vehicle machinery.

Two-component thick-coat acrylic primers have good adhesion to all types of metals and can be repainted with all types of finishes. They are ideal for the protection of agricultural, industrial, marine, mining, and industrial vehicle machinery.

Specifically, the primer is effective on untreated cold-rolled steel, aluminum alloy, galvanized steel, and stainless steel panels. The system successfully withstood over 1500 hours of salt spray testing. Rustoblock ECO-10 also performed exceptionally well on blasted steel surfaces, as encountered in marine and protective coating applications. These coatings demonstrated excellent surface tolerance, providing superior corrosion protection even over rusted panels. The primer has been tested at low film thickness and is suitable for use as a primer, mid-coat, and direct-to-metal (DTM) coating. (Extensive restructuring for clarity and technical accuracy.)
